Copperfield's Bookstore This is my family's favorite place to visit. Located in downtown Petaluma, it has everything you'd want to read about, from home improvement, literature, great fiction to a fantastic children's department. Copperfield's also has a cafe, with poetry readings, classical music and some talented local entertainment.
Historic Downtown We have film crews visiting our town several times a year, and one can easily see why! This is the Opera House building located on Kentucky Street. Most of our buildings downtown are the same vintage as the Opera House. Built on sandy loam, the downtown area has survived all the major earthquakes!
Lake Sonoma within 30 to 40 minutes from Petaluma. A great place to water-ski or fish, with easy freeway access. They also have several primitive environmental camp sites that are only reachable by boat or backpack. Bring along your sunscreen, because it's hot at the Lake!
