She is one of the few remaining descendants of the original Petaluma chicken ranching families and follows in the footsteps of her late grandfather Charles “Herb” Sovel of Sovel Realty, who was an active member of the Petaluma Real Estate community for over 40 years. She began her career in real estate lending during the 2003 refi boom as an assistant to the #1 producer in Santa Barbara County. After graduating from UCSB with degree in Communication and minor in Art History, she became a loan underwriter/processor, funder, and eventually Assistant Manager for the Real Estate Lending Department at Montecito Bank & Trust. This experience well prepared her to obtain her Real Estate license and transition to loan origination when she returned to Sonoma County two years ago. She strongly believes that her extensive training and experience behind the scenes of the mortgage industry sets her apart from the competition because she knows “the 3 essential P’s” of loans inside and out: products, pricing, and process. Megan has been a Mortgage Consultant with Touchstone Financial Group since February 2005. An active member of the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce, North Bay Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, and the Redwood Empire Mortgage Lenders Association, she tries to stay as active as possible in the events and committees that affect her local community.
