My Petaluma … Morning Ride out the “Hicks Valley Loop”

Yes, you guessed it…this Real Estate blog will have a lot to do with cycling!  I hope that’s okay, but as far as I’ve found in my past 27 years, I don’t know of a better way to see as much of the country side, get as much fresh air, and work up as good a sweat without limping to the office afterwards!  I’ll add more to this post later, but for now just enjoy the view into infinity at the top of the Hicks Valley Crest!

Head out D Street extension.  There’s a good shoulder as you wind your way up a few hundred feet of hair-pin turns, they’re a lot more fun riding the opposite direction, down, but at the top of the hill you’ll be ready for the next peak.  The D street shoulder continues for about another three miles or so until you hit San Antino road - then prepare to ride with traffic.   The next D Street climb is a steep one - over a 9% grade that takes you up roughly 620 feet.  Roll down the other side and take a right on Hicks Valley - the wind stops as you find yourself in a private valley.  It’s quite amazing actually, but you’re not done yet, the steepest climb is ahead.  Another 712 feet up the hicks Valley switch back and you’ll crest this ridge…

Nice, isn’t it?  :)

Sorry, no properties for sale up there at the moment, the second there is I’ll be sure to let you know!

Take care,
